How The Brooks Effect Began
Dr. Kimberly Brooks and Mrs. Dana Brooks, sisters-in-law and parents of neurodivergent children, have had countless conversations over the years that naturally progressed into the creation of The Brooks Effect, a psychological and educational consulting practice they co-founded. Together, Dr. Brooks, a clinical psychologist, and Mrs. Brooks, a veteran educator, help families understand evaluation results, navigate school systems, and advocate confidently for their children's emotional and educational needs.
Parents Walking This Path Too
We are parents of neurodivergent children, so we understand the concern, hope, and urgency behind every question you bring. Our lived experience keeps our guidance practical, compassionate, and grounded in real school and home life, so you can take clear, confident steps forward instead of feeling alone.
What Guides Our Daily Work
Every workshop, webinar, and consultation grows from three core principles: clarity, equity, and empowerment. We translate complex evaluations and school processes into understandable, practical steps so you feel informed, included, and confident as you support your child's learning, self-advocacy, and emotional health at school and at home.
